We stayed in so many hotels on our trip to Tulum, but these were the ones we fell in love with!

Mi Amor Hotel and Spa

We stayed at Mi Amor on our first night in Tulum. The vibe, view, and hotel room were all amazing. This hotel was hands down our favorite hotel. We liked it so much that we spent the whole afternoon lounging in the cabanas on the beach and in the pool. They have an amazing happy hour ( everyday 12-5) and restaurant here. Even if staying here isn’t on your agenda, we recommend stopping by for a drink!

our private hot tub at Mi Amor

Location: It is on the beach in the archeological zone in Tulum right on the beach road… To get here, you can see my post on how to get to Tulum.

The beach/ Pool: While the hotel is not on a white sane beach, the view here is amazing. They have amazing daybeds to chill out in and catch some rays right on the side of the cliff. As you enter the hotel, you will see the sallower part of the pool with lounge chairs and cabanas. Then along the bar and restaurant, you will find the deep part leading up to an amazing ocean view.

The vibe: Mi Amor is this ultra-romantic hotel and spa nestled in a beautiful small cliffside in Tulum. The moment you walk in you are captivated by the beauty of this place. It’s very modern but still keeps with the boho vibe of Tulum. It is adults only and some of the rooms come with their own hot tubs. We splurged a little and booked one! There were definitely no regrets!

The best view

Maria Del Mar

This hotel was called “the best kept secret in Tulum” on trip advisor and we agree! It’s crazy that there isn’t more hype about Maria Del Mar! We stayed here on our second night in town and loved it!

The vibe: As we entered the hotel from the main beach street, we were greeted with warm welcomes! The hospitality as this hotel was definitely top of the line. This 18-room boutique hotel offers luxury, relaxation, and Tulum’s boho beach vibes for a pretty reasonable price! The rooms were clean, simple, and open. The beach area, views from the room, and rooftop deck were absolutely stunning!

Location: So, this hotel’s location was perfect! It was right next to the famous Azulik’s, lots of restaurants, and was right on the beach!

The amenities: They actually have a private beach shared with only two other hotels! Their beach cabanas were the beautiful wooden beds that give off all the Tulum vibes without sacrificing luxury. The rood top deck was the best part though!  Although not overly advertised, we were amazed to find this amazing view after walking up the steps to what we thought was a bar. There were hammocks and daybeds and the most amazing view!

our amazing breakfast

The Orchid House

All we can say is WOW! This hotel was amazing. We decided to stay in town for a few days and were absolutely impressed with this spot.

The vibe: It was like we were walking into chic jungle with lush trees and beautiful modern art and furniture throughout. As you walk in through the reception, there is an incredible waterfall. Then they will lead us to the second floor where there is a swim up infinity pool!  Finally, we made it to our suite on the top floor. It was a beautiful treehouse type room with a lounge area, two decks, hammocks, and even an outdoor bath! This ten-room boutique hotel is perfection.

Location: This hotel is located on the outskirts of town fairly close to the beach. It was only a 10-minute bike ride to either the beach or the center of town. It’s perfect if you are looking for a luxury hotel without paying the beach prices.

the pool bar

Amenities: The pool is amazing! It is on the second floor giving you a view of the trees above and below. It has a swim-up bar and was great for relaxing! There was a Shala on the bottom floor for yoga, a reading nook at the top of our treehouse, out door private baths, and tons of space to lounge in and out of the room. The best part was the rooftop seat area though! ( yes there is a pattern here- we love great views)  They had a very Azulik type setup; however, you have it all to yourself and an amazing sunset view!

Until next time, Dez
